Yes, this is that time of the year when all of us get to eat seviya, baida roti, mutton korma, badami ghosht and more. If you haven’t already guessed, it’s Eid. India began the celebrations of Eid al-Adha 21 August and will end it on the evening of Wednesday, 22 August.
People in #Lucknow are preparing to celebrate an eco-friendly #Bakrid by cutting cakes with a goat image. A buyer at a bakery says, “The custom of sacrificing an animal on Bakrid is not right. I appeal to everyone to celebrate the festival by cutting a cake instead of an animal.” pic.twitter.com/C5EJ73dKM1

However, things are about to take a turn. A guy in Lucknow is preparing to cut a cake instead of goats and sheep. The hope is that this eco-friendly way of celebrating Bakrid will encourage more and more people to do something along similar lines.
